Buy tickets for a NHL team that doesn't exist

If you have $500 (upper bowl), $1000 (lower bowl), or $5000 (suite) to blow, you can be among the first to buy tickets for the NHL in Hamilton. Currently, the Hamilton NHL team plays in Nashville, and will for quite some time.

You know you're bourgoisie when....

Also, the guy that is selling the tickets doesn't actually own the team.

It's a great scam mostly because they can take the money now and invest it for the next 2 years making some form of profit. This is the obvious scam. It is a quick way to make a good chunk of cash and invest said cash into something that will earn money over the long run. If it fails to earn back 100% in 2 years, he can borrow money on equity and then give that money back to the people who purchased tickets.

Another one would be to try and scam more people out of their money in a rotational scheme. Thus every 2 years he just rotates who has the money.

And there is the possibility he'll just take the money and run.

As well, if tickets are made available by 2009 (which they likely won't be) He'll still make a reasonable profit off of this.
